A Proven Leader with Judicial Experience

Eric was elected to be the Magisterial District Judge for West Reading & Wyomissing in 2017 and has proudly served as the District Judge for these two boroughs since 2018. With over seven years of judicial experience, he brings proven leadership in running a courtroom, holding hearings, and making fair and impartial legal decisions. His caseload has included:

  • Criminal preliminary arraignments and criminal preliminary hearings

  • Civil cases

  • Deciding petitions for emergency protection from abuse orders

Transparency and Integrity in Decision-Making

In addition to his judicial experience, Eric has authored numerous legal opinions that explain the reasoning behind his decisions. Many of these opinions have been published in the Berks County Law Journal, reflecting his commitment to transparency and adherence to the law.

Dedicated to Educating and Inspiring Youth

As a firm believer in the importance of civic education, Eric has opened his courtroom to youth, providing them with an opportunity to learn about the law and court system firsthand. His efforts include:

  • Hosting high school interns interested in exploring legal careers

  • Conducting in-person and virtual sessions for younger students to talk about his role as a judge

  • Serving as a "Watchdog Dad," presenting to classrooms and inspiring the next generation of leaders

  • Participating in panels for legal professionals at local high schools

Active Leadership in the Berks County Bar Association

Since becoming a District Judge in 2018, Eric has increased his involvement in the Berks County Bar Association. Highlights of his contributions include:

  • Serving as Co-Chair for the Bar Association’s Minor Judiciary Practice & Procedure

  • Creating and teaching Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs, including presentations at the annual Bench Bar Conference

  • Assisting in updating bar members about new procedures in district courts
